If you have a complicated multi-project solution where Visual Studio 2010 is starting to take a while loading – try adding this extension which by default causes projects to only load on demand. Everything is much quicker !

NOTE:  If you check out a different branch or undertake som other major change in GIT - you may find VS crashes on opening the solution.  Try disabling the extension, doing a full build and then re-enable
