This involved the development of a survey methodology and a survey of 98 sites to identify OMH habitat, including a survey of invertebrates on 50 - the largest single survey of its kind in the UK.

This was used to establish a baseline for the condition of the path and provide a resource for those responsible for its management. exeGesIS worked with NRW to establish the methodology for the survey.

Exegesis investigated and mobilised the available data on 120 species covered by the Habitats Directive. These data were sought from third-party data holders, determining the data that exists and then working towards mobilising it on the NBN Gateway so that it could be used during preparation of the third Article 17 report.

Establishing the condition and monitoring baseline for non-SSSI Broad, Priority and Annex 1 Woodland Habitats in England and Wales

We developed a condition monitoring methodology to gain an insight into and monitor the condition of non-statutory woodlands. The survey methodology was tested on 100 sample sites. The main outputs were a woodland condition assessment manual, survey database, regression analysis, project report and baseline condition data.

Data were assessed against historic maps and aerial photography, as well as modern data sources. Ground truthing was undertaken in two regions. The resulting inventory mapped 156,838 ha of wood-pasture and parkland.

Carmarthenshire Greenspace analysisexeGesIS undertook an analysis of Greenspace and Public Open Space in Carmarthenshire for 21 major and 51 minor settlements to determine the percentage of the population in each settlement which passed set criteria. The results were reviewed by local authority staff via a website, allowing comments to be left and read by others.
